Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Hadou Kasbah – Merzouga – camel ride
Our private 2 day desert trip from marrakech starts after picking you up at your hotel or riad in Marrakech. You will leave for Merzougas with an expert tour guide / driver. On the way you will cross the High Atlas Mountains by the incredible Tizi n’Tichka port, 2,260 meters high. Shortly after crossing the Atlas we will arrive at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, it’san incredible fortified village where films such as Gladiator or The Kingdom Of the Skies.
After the visit of Kasabah we will take the Road of the Thousand Kasbahs towards Skoura Oasis, The Valley of roses, Dades valley. We stop for lunch on the way. Then we continue through Tinjdad, Risaani.
Before sunset you will reach Merzouga Sahara desert village to start camel trekking excursion to desert camp. To reach the camp you will ride your camel over sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. The dunes are located south east of Morocco. and Sahara desert is large as 35 km long and 5 to 8 km wide it’s also reputed as the highest sand dunes in North Africa.
The camel treks takes about 1h 30 min from Merzouga town to the nomadic camp. We have both luxury and normal comfort camp. in the camp we have western bathroom kitchen and dining room.
After delicious Tagine at the dinner the Berber guide will make some berber music. They use traditional drums. you will play drums and watch stars. enjoy 1 night camel treking Marrakech.
Day 2: Erg Chebi dune – Rissani – Alnif – Draa valley – Anti-Atlas Mountains
Today in second day of 2 day Desert tour from Marrakech itinerary start with an early morning. The guides in camp will wake you up to watch fabulous sunrise behind Erg Chebbi dunes. Breakfast and shower at the camp. Camel treks to Merzouga or 4WD or ATVs quad biking as an extra activity to Merzouga.
The journey is long again from south east to the center of Morocco .Leave Merzouga and drive to Marrakech through Rissani and its palm grove oasis. Visit the authentic markets. Continue to Alnif, Tazarine, Draa valley, and Ouarzazate via Anti-Atlas Mountains and reach Marrakech late evening around 7pm. This the end of Authentic Berber tours and Marrakech to Merzouga with camel trekking excursion overnight desert camp.
